So, as mentioned once long ago, I've been working on opening an online boutique and as of next week...

... it's open!

Everything has finally come together. The lovely Corinne at Skinnedcartree- who you should totally go and check out as soon as you've read this post-

and I have teamed up to offer you a mini beauty hamper to

celebrate the opening of my online boutique, Pepper Wood. I have

mentioned Pepper Wood in the past, from time to time here on Box Of Various and

elsewhere across my social media, and at last all the hard work has

payed off. I’m just tying up the last few loose ends and putting

the finishing touches to the boutique and hopefully by 6th July it will

be up and running and I’ll be sat here excitedly awaiting your first

Well, where better to begin, than where I've been asked to begin- an introduction (or reintroduction as the case may be).

 

My name is Heidi. Here I am:
 

 

I love blogging in cafes... :P

 

I've been blogging for about a year now, almost exactly a year I think, and I just started because everybody else seemed to be blogging really, and it looked fun. One year later and I'm still here, so I can confirm, it is fun :) You can read where the name Box Of Various came from here. I thought it would suit my blog as I couldn't seem to settle on just one thing to blog about! I have since realised that although variety is a great thing, not having a clear theme or direction is confusing for both the blogger and the readers, and so I decided to refocus. I can now proudly announce to any who might be kind/interested enough to ask, that Box Of Various is a lifestyle blog with an emphasis on style and beauty. I sometimes throw in a recipe here and there, and there is the odd post on something interesting that's going on in my life, but I'm much more organised now :)

I enjoy lots of things (hence, again the Various!) But top of my list at the moment are:

crochet- my Mum has got me 'hooked' and I'm currently working on a few projects that you'll hear about in due course here, including a New Year snowflake cushion, and some fingerless mittens for my Beloved- there I've said it now, I have to make them!

ice-skating- I've just recently discovered that I actually can skate, and what's more, I love it! No more clinging on to the edge for me anymore!

music- I play guitar and write my own songs and I'm looking forward to getting back onto the open mic scene soon.

languages- I love languages. I speak French, having spent a very good portion of my informative years in France, and I teach English as a Foreign Language. One of the many exciting things I'm looking forward to this year, is continuing studying Russian!

reading- I don't seem to find as much time as I'd like to, to read, but when I can I enjoy it very much. I'm currently reading Jane Austen's Persuasion.

New Year Nails- French Manicure Stickers Review

I think I first heard properly about manicure stickers here from Kaylah of the wonderful Dainty Squid blog (really, she is my favourite, favourite blogger of the moment, I have got so many new and cool ideas from her!)

So, since seeing these french manicure nail stickers on the Yves Rocher site a few days ago, I have been dying to try them out. Today I bought myself some and voila les résultats:

 

 

 

 

 

It's very important that I like these stickers because I'm including a pack in my Grow Your Blog post giveaway which will go live on the evening of 24th January... (and yes- I love them!) They are easy to use and give a very clear and neat finish. I'm so pleased with them, I hope you'll like them too- see, tried and tested just for you :)

This is a very exciting post for me to write! 

So I've been blogging for a while now, and recently had a bit of a rethink on content, regularity ect.- you can read my thoughts here if you like- and here I am all shiny and new! And so, to really get things off to a good start, what better than a Box Of Various giveaway?
