Well, where better to begin, than where I've been asked to begin- an introduction (or reintroduction as the case may be).
My name is Heidi. Here I am:
I've been blogging for about a year now, almost exactly a year I think, and I just started because everybody else seemed to be blogging really, and it looked fun. One year later and I'm still here, so I can confirm, it is fun :) You can read where the name Box Of Various came from here. I thought it would suit my blog as I couldn't seem to settle on just one thing to blog about! I have since realised that although variety is a great thing, not having a clear theme or direction is confusing for both the blogger and the readers, and so I decided to refocus. I can now proudly announce to any who might be kind/interested enough to ask, that Box Of Various is a lifestyle blog with an emphasis on style and beauty. I sometimes throw in a recipe here and there, and there is the odd post on something interesting that's going on in my life, but I'm much more organised now :)
I enjoy lots of things (hence, again the Various!) But top of my list at the moment are:
crochet- my Mum has got me 'hooked' and I'm currently working on a few projects that you'll hear about in due course here, including a New Year snowflake cushion, and some fingerless mittens for my Beloved- there I've said it now, I have to make them!
ice-skating- I've just recently discovered that I actually can skate, and what's more, I love it! No more clinging on to the edge for me anymore!
music- I play guitar and write my own songs and I'm looking forward to getting back onto the open mic scene soon.
languages- I love languages. I speak French, having spent a very good portion of my informative years in France, and I teach English as a Foreign Language. One of the many exciting things I'm looking forward to this year, is continuing studying Russian!
reading- I don't seem to find as much time as I'd like to, to read, but when I can I enjoy it very much. I'm currently reading Jane Austen's Persuasion.
